Hi, I’m Katie.
I’m a newborn, maternity and family photographer based in Gilgandra, NSW, and a proud mum of three.
It wasn’t until I had my third baby that I truly understood just how quickly those tiny details disappear. One day, you’re soaking in every sleepy cuddle, tiny finger and little stretch, and before you know it, they’ve changed forever. You don’t realise you’re saying goodbye to those moments until they’re already gone.
That realisation is what inspired me to create The Mellor Perspective.
I wanted to create more than beautiful photographs. I wanted to give families a way to hold onto these fleeting moments—to preserve not just how their baby looked, but how this season of life felt.
Every session is completely baby-led. There’s never any pressure to keep your little one settled, and I never expect a “perfect” baby. Feeding, cuddles, changing and comforting are all part of the experience, because that’s exactly what life with a newborn looks like.
Above everything else, your baby’s safety and comfort will always come first. If that means taking extra time or changing the plan, that’s exactly what we’ll do.
My hope is that years from now, you’ll look back at your photographs and see all the tiny details you didn’t realise you were saying goodbye to—and be so grateful you chose to preserve them.

What You Can Expect
A relaxed, baby-led session
There’s never any rush. We allow plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, settling and breaks, because every baby is different.
Safety always comes first
Every pose is done with your baby’s comfort and wellbeing as the highest priority. If something isn’t safe, we simply don’t do it.
Parents are part of the experience
No one knows your baby better than you. I encourage parents to be involved throughout the session so everyone feels comfortable and confident.
Timeless, natural portraits
Soft tones, gentle posing and classic editing create photographs you’ll love just as much in twenty years as you do today.
A gallery worth waiting for
Every image is individually and carefully edited by hand. Your finished gallery is delivered within 7-14 days, so every photograph receives the attention it deserves.

Your baby’s safety is never left to chance. Katie continually invests in professional education and newborn safety training to ensure every session is conducted with the highest standard of care.
